FAQs

  1. What is ECLC’s main focus?

ECLC focuses on empowering individuals, teams, and organisations through learning, coaching, and consulting services.

  1. Where is ECLC located?

We are based in Harare, Zimbabwe, and Johannesburg, South Africa, but we serve clients worldwide.

  1. What is coaching?

Coaching is defined as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximise their personal and professional potential, which is particularly important in today’s uncertain and complex environment. It is an outcomes-based, short-term structured partnership where a coachee defines their goal to move from their present state to a new desired way of being, seeing, behaving, and achieving goals.

  1. What is a life coach?

Life coaches help their clients determine which changes they want to make in their lives and then help formulate the steps clients need to take to reach these personal goals.

  1. What is a career coach?

Career coaching focuses on career development, which is lifelong planning, decisions, and actions related to your work, life, and learning goals. A career coach helps you define and achieve career goals or deal with career issues that emerge at each stage of life transition. Career coaches also support you in successfully navigating transitions related to work, learning, and life, which include moving from high school to college, entering early employment, advancing through middle management and senior leadership roles, and planning for a supported working retirement.

  1. What does a career coach do?

A career coach guides you through career planning, development, and management processes, as well as work-life coaching to ensure you have balance and integration. Other career management processes a coach can support you with would be job search or employment consulting, interview coaching, social media use such as LinkedIn positioning, and CV writing. They can also help you develop career development competencies that enable you to proactively manage your career throughout your lifespan.

A career coach provides you with the tools for understanding yourself and the job market but also takes a deeper look at your life, paying attention to your values, interests, personality, skills, knowledge, experience, gender roles, age, life purpose, passions, and self-image.

  1. How can coaching benefit me?
  • You will be supported to define your work, life, learning, career, business, leadership, and retirement goals.
  • You will go through a step-by-step process to help you produce a plan to follow as a roadmap to achieving your goals.
  • Coaching provides you with support in stopping or unlearning what is necessary for you to achieve your goals while also helping you develop a supportive structure that includes habits, routines, skills, and ways of working and living.
  • As a structured and outcomes-based helping profession, coaching is the container and vehicle for accompanying you on your journey to life, work, and business success, as well as being an accountability partner to hold you accountable for set actions.
